How to manage cravings effortlessly using the six tastes of Ayurveda

I know how it feels to be out of control of your health, your body, the foods you consume and even your mind.

Cravings are very, very real and they can sabotage all of your weight loss efforts if you fail to control them.

But, please remember that eating is supposed to be joyful, blissful and feel good. It isn’t supposed to be this way and you CAN change this. I know because I have.

I used to struggle from compulsive cravings for sweets, especially chocolate, that I literally felt like it was impossible to resist. I would binge and then I would feel disgusted with myself for what I believed was a lack of self-control.

… until I learned about this specific Ayurvedic philosophy and everything changed for me. It was finally easy to resist cravings. And eventually, I didn’t even have them in the first place.

According to the Ayurvedic method – when we have a craving, our body is trying to signal to us that it is missing one of the six tastes:

  1. Sweet – fruits, honey
  2. Sour – grapefruit, lime, kiwi
  3. Salty – Himalayan pink salt, sea salt
  4. Bitter – spinach, dark chocolate
  5. Pungent – garlic, ginger
  6. Astringent – pomegranate, lentils

It’s so important to include all of these tastes in your diet! By including all of the six tastes in your diet in their natural forms, you are going to easily and effortlessly kick those never-ending cravings to the curb for good.

And yes, that means you CAN still eat sweet and salty foods on your weight loss journey – as long as you are mindful with what they are.
